EIT URBAN MOBILITY: RISpire’s Knowledge Boosting Trainings

About EIT Urban Mobility

Founded in 2019 by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), EIT Urban Mobility accelerates the transition to sustainable urban mobility by giving startups, researchers, cities, and companies access to knowledge, talent, markets, and funding. With over 250 core partners and a wider network of 1,100+ organisations in 35 countries, EIT Urban Mobility supports innovative solutions that address urban mobility challenges across Europe.

The Challenge

RIS regions like Romania, Czech Republic, and the Galicia–North Portugal Euroregion face skill gaps in mobility planning and innovation.

Civil servants, researchers, and professionals often lack access to practical, interdisciplinary training aligned with entrepreneurship, ESG, and inclusion goals. There was a clear need for modular, scalable training programmes that work across borders and support diverse groups including women and early-stage innovators.

Beneficiary

  • Academic staff and researchers in mobility and urban planning
  • Local authorities and civil servants responsible for mobility
  • Entrepreneurs and early-stage innovators
  • Women with professional or business interest in sustainable urban mobility

Over 100 participants engaged through local outreach events and over 80 completed the trainings.

Delivered by

Four trainings were developed and delivered collaboratively:

1. Train-the-Trainers (Iceberg+, Romania)

2. Open Innovation in Urban Mobility (CTAG, Spain)

3. ESG in Urban Mobility (PowerHUB, Czech Republic)

4. Empowering Women in Urban Mobility (Iceberg+, Romania)

Each training was open to all countries, with co-promotion and regional recruitment by all partners:

  • ICEBERG PLUS SRL (Romania) – Lead partner, training delivery, stakeholder engagement
  • CTAG – Automotive Technology Center of Galicia (Spain/Portugal) – Educational content & delivery
  • PowerHUB (Czech Republic) – Educational content & delivery

* This project was co-funded by EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.
