The Challenge
In 2019–2020, Romania’s clean energy innovation ecosystem was still in an early stage, with limited access to structured support programs for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators.
There was a clear need for hands-on guidance, expert mentorship, and ecosystem connections to help energy-focused startups develop viable business models and reach the market.

Early-stage Romanian entrepreneurs and individuals teams with business ideas in the sustainable energy sector.
A total of 34 individuals across both editions benefited directly from the program.

The InnoEnergy Primer program editions were delivered by ICEBERG PLUS SRL (Project Leader), in collaboration with Green Energy Innovative Biomass Cluster under the umbrella of the EIT InnoEnergy Hub Romania.

Solution
InnoEnergy Primer program
The InnoEnergy Primer program was a five-day pre-acceleration program designed to support participants through a mix of workshops, mentorship, and practical coaching.
It guided early-stage innovators in validating and refining their business models, understanding the energy market, and preparing for pitch presentations. Two editions were organized, one in Brasov and one in Bucharest.
