PowerUp! 2020 Bootcamp – Romania Edition for startups in energy

The Challenge

Romanian energy startups often face limited access to tailored mentorship, visibility, and pathways to European funding and markets.

As part of the larger PowerUp! challenge organized by EIT InnoEnergy across Europe, there was a need to identify and support high-potential Romanian startups and prepare them to compete effectively at national and international levels.

Beneficiary

Five Romanian energy startups, selected as national finalists of the PowerUp! 2020 competition.

These startups operated in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, smart technologies, and sustainability.

The PowerUp! 2020 Bootcamp – Romania Edition was delivered online by REPOM SRL (project partner), in collaboration with Helioexpert SRL, under the coordination of the EIT InnoEnergy Hub Romania project led by ICEBERG PLUS SRL.

Solution

Online bootcamp

An online bootcamp that took place on 7 – 8 May, 2020, via Webex.

It included both group sessions and 1:1 coaching. It featured top experts such as Mihai Gheza, Jürgen Ludwig, and Radu Crăciun.

The program focused on refining business pitches, improving clarity, and preparing participants for final evaluations.

Enabled all five startups to significantly improve their presentations, validate business ideas, and pitch confidently in the national final.

Built a strong collaborative environment between startups and mentors, despite being fully online.

Established a replicable digital bootcamp model for future editions.

Provided strong visibility and credibility to Romanian startups on the European innovation scene.
