In early March, students interested in contemporary arts and new media can join a series of 9 free online courses, focused on tools that are already part of today’s artistic practice: 3D printing, laser cutting, VR/XR, computer vision & AI, IoT sensors, and cultural entrepreneurship. The programme is designed as an applied “toolkit” for those who want to expand their portfolio with tech-driven projects (installations, objects, interactive performance, scenography, digital exhibitions).
Participation is free, as the courses are funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe programme.
Online courses schedule (2–10 March 2026)

What are the courses about
This series is designed for students (arts, design, architecture, new media, scenography, film/photo, performance), with topics that translate directly into studio projects and portfolio work:
· Prototyping & objects: 3D printing for sculpture and product design; laser cutting for installations, mock-ups, scenography.
· Immersion: XR/VR as a medium for creation and presentation (digital exhibitions, interactive spaces).
· AI in art: computer vision and visual analysis/transformation tools for interactive and narrative projects.
· Interactivity & performance: IoT sensors integrated into installations and responsive performances.
· Professional sustainability: cultural entrepreneurship — project structure, audience, positioning, resources, and concrete steps to take an idea “from the studio” to stage/exhibition.
Who are the courses for
Primarily for students who want to:
- explore art-tech practices with no participation costs,
- build a portfolio connected to current technologies,
- understand how art, design, and digital tools can be combined into a coherent project.
No advanced technical experience is required — the courses are designed as hands-on introductions.
Trainers
The trainers come from applied practice: for Digital Imaging, the course is delivered by Almir Mazalović (FabLab Bosnia), focusing on the real differences between screen and print and on clean portfolio workflows; for Laser Cutting, the session is led by Nikola Matić (Polyhedra Serbia); and for Electronics & Photonics, the course is coordinated by Emir Karamehmedović, with an approach that connects simple circuits to materials and light effects used creatively. For the Tech in Theatre module, the facilitator is Denis Flueraru, a new media artist focused on connecting sound and visual art with digital and analogue technology.
Registration
Register via the form here.
Participation is free, subject to available places.
The workshop series takes place online, in English, on Zoom (link sent after registration). Participation is free with limited places, and at the end participants receive a certificate of participation (event co-funded by the European Union).
About TECA
TECA (Technological Empowerment in Creative Arts) is a cross-border initiative connecting creative spaces and communities in Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia, to accelerate the integration of digital technologies into contemporary artistic practices.
The project includes hands-on workshops (online and offline), mentoring, maker-type events, and work on real projects—so that acquired skills turn into visible outcomes in participants’ portfolios.
TECA is implemented by:
- Iceberg+ (Romania) – project leader and overall coordinator, with expertise in innovation, creative industries, and European collaboration;
- FabLab Bosnia & Herzegovina – developer of the Creative Nexus platform, a digital space dedicated to collaboration between artists and tech communities;
- Polyhedra Maker Space (Serbia) – coordinator of the Digital Arts Labs and training programmes, focused on experimentation and learning-by-doing.
Together, TECA partners are building a regional community of artists and innovators—showing that when technology enters the studio, creativity finds entirely new forms of expression.
